Trail time at the Spring Treble Series of races

On The Double For The Spring Treble

The first race in the series has been changed from Hanchurch to Milford.

If you are looking for some weekday trail action then sign up for the Spring Treble Series from Stone Master Marathoners (Stone MM). There are three races on three challenging courses and series prizes to contend for at this off-road favourite.

The clocks go forward on Sunday 26 March which means the start of British Summer Time. Fine weather, lighter evenings and the Spring Treble Series of races held in three stunning locations to look forward to. This series is ideal for the experienced trail runner and newcomer alike whilst showcasing the best of the Staffordshire countryside.

These approx 5 mile races take place on three consecutive Thursday evenings in April starting at 7pm. This leaves enough time to dash home from work, get changed then head on over to the following:

13 April: Milford Mayhem

Push the pace (and climb a couple of hills!) around Cannock Chase, running through heathland and woods in this popular visitor attraction.

20 April: Kibblestone Klamber

Three laps of an undulating course at Kibblestone International Scout Camp. A ‘Marmite’ race some say – you’ll either love the laps or hate them but you won’t forget them.

27 April: Barlaston Ups and Downs

Wondering what the course is like? The title gives it away. Run two hilly laps of Barlaston Downs which includes a speedy downhill mile (there are prizes for the first male/female) and a gruelling uphill mile to the finish at Oulton Cricket Club.

The series prize presentation will take place afterwards. There are prizes for the top three men and women; male and female age group winner.

There will also be free downloadable photos from Mick Hall.

Pau Run and Ride Trentham are sponsoring the three races, the male and female winner’s prizes and the downhill sprint prize at Barlaston. There are vouchers for people who complete all three.

Overall, this is a tough yet rewarding series to get your teeth into after Easter. Get cracking and enter!
