The Kirkintilloch 10K is a club organised road race held on a largely flat course through Kirkintilloch. Starting in Northbank Avenue, the route quickly joins the Forth and Clyde Canal towpath before heading towards Cadder Bridge and returning via a combination of canal side paths and pavements.
Open to runners of all abilities, the race follows a fast course that makes extensive use of the canal towpath, with the finish located behind St Ninian's High School. The event is organised under UK Athletics and Scottish Athletics rules and has become a popular fixture in the local running calendar.
Alongside the main race, a junior 2K event takes place on the same evening, providing younger runners with their own opportunity to race. The combination of flat terrain, canal side running and a welcoming club atmosphere makes the Kirkintilloch 10K a popular event for runners across central Scotland.
