Springtime Running In The Highlands
The countdown to the 2025 Inverness Half Marathon and 5K is on...
As one of the first races of the year, the Inverness Half Marathon (9 March) is a great way to keep motivated as we head into 2025 and an ideal sharpener for a spring marathon. The weekend's activities also include a 5K for newcomers or those looking to smash their PB over a shorter distance.
The 2025 edition will host the Scottish Half Marathon Championships and the North District Championships for the third consecutive year with an excellent field of athletes expected. Malcolm Sutherland of Inverness Half Marathon told runABC: "We’re delighted the Inverness Half Marathon has been selected to host the Scottish Half Marathon and North District Championships once again.
“This selection is testament to the hard work of our incredible team and volunteers. It is thanks to them that we are able to put on such a fantastic event that brings together runners of all abilities from Inverness, the Highlands, Scotland and beyond.”
Rest assured that every runner will be treated like a champion on race day with fantastic support along the routes and an enthusiastic welcome at the finishline from the crowds who line the running track at Queens Park Stadium. The route itself starts alongside the banks of the River Ness near the centre of Inverness and takes in many of the city’s icons.
