New Race For Falkirk
New event with charity at its heart is set for Falkirk this November...
A brand new running event is coming to the Falkirk area this autumn, with the inaugural Maggie’s 5K and 10K Chase taking place on 9 November. The race will start and finish in Kinnaird Village, with both distances following an out-and-back route.
Organisers say: "The route offers a mix of tarmac and gentle inclines, taking runners through an area of historical and natural interest. Plane Castle provides a striking backdrop for the event, while the surrounding countryside promises scenic views, wildlife and a refreshing outdoor experience." The 5K turning point will be at Plane Castle, with 10K runners continuing a further 2.5K before looping back.
Organisers have described the event as low-key, with manual timing and prizes for the top three men and women in both races. Proceeds will go directly to Maggie’s Forth Valley, and volunteers from the charity will be on hand on the day.
The event has been designed to celebrate community, with local support and encouragement expected to create a welcoming atmosphere for runners of all abilities. With its mix of history, landscape and fundraising for a worthy cause, the Maggie’s Chase will hopefully become a memorable addition to Scotland’s running calendar.
