The GWR Towpath Series Race 3 is the third event in the Great Western Runners Towpath Series, a four race summer series featuring three 10K races followed by a 5K finale. Held on a Friday evening, the event offers a scenic mixed terrain 10K along the River Avon in Bristol.
Starting close to Ashton Park School, the out and back course follows the River Avon towpath on a gently undulating route of gravel towpaths and tarmac paths, with occasional tree roots and uneven sections. The well marshalled course is easy to follow and provides fast, enjoyable running in a peaceful riverside setting.
Race 3 contributes towards the overall Towpath Series standings, with competitors counting their best three results from the four race series.
