Family Festival of Four Races
The whole family can get involved at this north east running festival, which is all set for August...
After successfully introducing a 5K and kids 1K fun run in 2023, the Deveron Harriers Festival of Running will return in 2024 with the same variety of distances on offer, a Half Marathon and 10K completing the line up.
This year's festival will take place on 11 August, so it makes for the perfect activity for the whole family to get involved with to make the end of the (long) summer holidays.
All races offer multi-terrain courses with runners following the River Deveron from Turriff to Banff. Thanks to the variety of distances on offer runners of all abilities and ages will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and stunning views on offer.
The half marathon sets off from Turriff with the route predominantly following a quiet road along the number 1 National Cycle Route. The 10K joins on along the same route at Castle Eden.
In the latter part of the run participants enter a woodland trail which crosses the spectacular Bridge of Alvah. They will then run through the historic Duff House grounds passing the Ice House and Mausoleum, before finishing at Duff House Rugby Club playing pitches. The 5K will be a trail run with its course taking in the grounds of Duff House.
All entrants will receive a memento, medal and goody bag with some beautiful hand-crafted trophies for prize winners. There will also be be the possibility of a post run massage from SD Sports & Injury Clinic - just make a donation to Stuart's chosen charity.
