New Trail 10K For Derbyshire

This new addition to the Derbyshire running calendar has all the criteria to become a firm favourite...

Runners looking for a fast yet scenic challenge have a new date for their diaries as the Darley Moor Trail 10K makes its debut on 14 September. The race will take place entirely within the grounds of Darley Moor, starting and finishing by the starting grid of the race track.

The two-lap course blends hard trails, footpaths and grass, with mostly flat terrain punctuated by a few short hills to keep things interesting. Organisers promise a route that caters for all abilities and offers the chance to explore parts of Darley Moor that many have never seen before.

Runners and supporters can enjoy the convenience of free on-site parking and toilets, while the on-site café will be serving good food at reasonable prices throughout the day. Free basic overnight camping is also available on the Saturday night, making the race an ideal weekend getaway for those travelling from further afield.

The Darley Moor Trail 10K is part of a full weekend of sporting action, with junior (8-16 years) and senior (15+) duathlons taking place the day before. Spectators will find plenty of vantage points to watch the action unfold and finishers of the 10K can opt for a bespoke medal along with snacks and water at the line.
