Keeping the beat in the heat at the Clayton 10K

Come On Round For The Clayton 10K

The two lap, midweek race is raring to go and with plenty of homemade cake at the finish.

This evening sees the return of the Clayton 10K (Wednesday 10 May) and a good thrash on a fully marshalled route followed by a slice of cake (or two!). There are prizes (based upon Gun Time) and NSRRA points up for grabs too.

Race number 6 in the NSRRA League Programme and organised by Blythe Bridge Running Club; the Clayton 10K is an ideal midweek race in which to aim for a PB on an undulating yet speedy course. The 7.15pm start time allows enough time to race home from work then put the hammer down around Clayton and The Westlands near Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Runners from Trentham RC, Newcastle (Staffs) AC, Stone MM, Stoke FIT and many others will line up, ready for the fray as they compete for individual as well as club glory. Last year’s winner Carl Moulton of Boalloy RC is back to defend his title in a tough field. There’ll be some close finishes amongst the women for the honour and the 1st place trophy. There are prizes for the second and third man/woman along with male and female age group winners. The presentation will be held afterwards.

The action will take place over two laps on roads with more than a few cheers to keep runners going, especially for the climb up Seabridge Lane!

Whilst the event remains unchanged, new for this year is a bespoke medal that was an option at time of entry.

Finally, there’s a reminder to entrants to bring some cash for the cake stall. There are photos of these mouth-watering delights on the NSRRA Facebook page.
