From Coldplay To 10K
London's Wembley Stadium hosts a brilliant new 10K...
London's latest 10K kicked off in style at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, 24 August 2025. The inaugural ASICS LDNX 10K saw a field of nearly 5,000 runners fill the streets surrounding the iconic home of English football, and so many amazing music concerts and other events.
Coldplay were on stage the night before as part of their unprecedented 10-night Wembley residency during their Music of the Spheres World Tour. In a nod to Wembley’s music roots, ASICS LDNX 10K finishers were treated to a post-event party at Boxpark, headlined by a live Oasis tribute act with a Wembley singalong that kept the celebrations going long after the final participant crossed the line.
The event began with a one-of-a-kind indoor start line experience, featuring an epic light show, and powered by high-energy music to set the tone for the kilometres ahead. Participants enjoyed entertainment at the Drum Zone and Swift Sprint, running past iconic landmarks like the Bobby Moore statue, before finishing beneath the striking backdrop of the Wembley Arch on the renowned Olympic Way.
The inaugural course records were set by Alex Carter (Team Bath AC, 31:26) and W35 Emily Marchant (Swansea Harriers, 36:12). The men's top three was completed by James Cook (unattached, 31:55) and James O'Brien (St Edmund Pacers, 31:56). Marchant was joined on the women's podium by Katie Bingle (Aldershot, Farnham & District AC, 37:14) and Rachel Boswell (Thames Hare & Hounds, 37:39).
Andrew Smith, CEO of event organisers A.S.O. UK, said: “The first-ever ASICS LDNX 10K has exceeded all expectations. To see thousands take to the streets of Wembley and experience the unique mix of sport, music, and community we set out to create was incredible. From the energy at the start line to the celebrations at the finish, this event has shown the potential to become a real highlight in London’s running calendar, and we’re excited to build on this momentum for years to come.”
The event, supported by title partner ASICS, brought together runners from across London, the UK, and beyond – from first-timers to seasoned athletes – all united by a shared goal to be part of the first-ever ASICS LDNX 10K.
